what would you think about running out of the I formation , inside the red zone . Not at all times . Do you think it would work, and help the passing game too.

They have used both the I formation and offset I formation a few times with Conor McGovern.

We used it with Zeke behind various big men and had play action with TE’s and slot receivers coming off blocking assignments into routes. It’s been a staple for 5-6 years. Similar plays with jumbo packages as well

Man if they get rid of that alone it was worth seeing Moore go……
with Moore gone and the addition of the FAs and Mazi is enough to get me looking forward to a different ending of the season.

got to get to that damn NFC Championship game this year….tired of watching other teams in it and I know we ALL are

Doesn't matter. IMHO they key is running multiple plays out of the same/similar formation with built in motion and or disguise/fake element. If the defense knows what they want to do when we lineup in the I formation in the redzone it can become too easy to counter.

This would involve taking a receiver off the field and replacing him with a fullback, or so.eone who's better at blocking than catching.

That's working against how the rules are set up to favor teams.

That said....it's better to slam into the line for 2 yards than throw an interception, so maybe we should be running out of the I every play like it was 1990. Least we won't be throwing record numbers of Pick 6's

Yup, even me and @TheMarathonContinues agree that we hate to see the empty backfield at the goaline and we don’t agree on much, lol
You shouldn't be too happy about this, not a good person to agree with lol just kidding. Agreed, we usually pass it, and there's no one back there to protect Dak, causing some kind of bad drive killing thing to happen!!!

I'm all for mixing up formations. The more they do that the better the offense will be. We'll see if they decide to keep a FB on the roster?
