Certainly not against it.

A lot of teams successfully use the WR screens down close. But it requires QB to deliver the ball quickly & accurately, the other receivers to get decent blocks and the target receiver to be able to catch the ball while moving and assessing what is happening in front of him. We rarely seem to be able to get all the ingredients right.

Makes for some easy offense when executed well though.

I miss the fullback.

I’m hoping MM installs something that uses it more often. Could work.

I think that you should never run I formation and really never call a run play unless you have a distinct numbers advantage.

We might see it more now Zeke is gone. I've read we didn't use it much because Zeke didn't like that formation.

Used to love them running that back in the day with Moose opening up the hole for Smith.

Wouldn't mind them bringing it back a bit.
Can anyone explain why teams do not use a lead blocking FB anymore? Is it just because the game favors the passing game? Is it the CAP? The roster size?

what would you think about running out of the I formation , inside the red zone . Not at all times . Do you think it would work, and help the passing game too.
I don't know

why don't you ask the Dallas Cowboys offensive staff and the head coach who's calling plays????

I don't think that's what the West Coast offense does but I'd like to see anything and everything plus the kitchen sink throwing out on the field, maybe that's the only thing that can stop the 49ers if he threw sinks in their way...

In all seriousness though I mean usually when you line up like that it's obvious you're about to run the football and almost you know where the football is going our offensive line is not that good and neither is our run game especially now that zeke is gone we don't have a true power back.. I'd like to see it every once in a while like a surprise stoneman but not as regular part of our offense the element of surprise comes when you don't know whether you're going to run pass or going to use the running backs out in the pass game,, you're basically spreading guys out now with receivers when you're in 1 back system and you can do anything out of that formation.
