Running scared

Murray is showing too much political correctness for my liking. He needs to show more frustration Ala Dez after plays like this. Go to the sidleline, pick up a phone and throw a fit to get the rock more in short yard/field situations. Make a beeline to Linehan and make sure he knows. OT to audible anymore as well. This spread offense from within the 5 is ridiculous. Line upand hit someone. We are so soft mentally on offense it's not even funny and that starts with the HC & QB.

Garrett needs to sack up. He is the head coach, not Romo. For those who compare him to Landry, I simply laugh. Even the great Roger Staubach could not call his own plays. He just executed in spectacular fashion.

There is a time for the QB to run the game. The first half on an early down on the goal line is not one of those times for Romo.

huh? did you not watch demarcos reaction in last season game vs GB ? Also go watch the play where Romo changed the play and look at Murray after Romo got sacked.

Yes, I saw his ONFIELD reaction and like I said, he should carry that frustration over to the sideline. To be more specific, take it straight to Linehan, then Garrett, then Jerry and last but not least to the media. After both of your examples, Murray went to the media and kept it overly PC about Romo's audibles. This passing inside the 5 has to stop and as long as Murray continues to bite his tongue, it won't change. If not Murray, then the next candidate needs to be Fredbeard/Oline.

Complaining and moaning on a team level are nothing but disruptive. Those turn into business decisions and longer recoveries from injury, and less intense play on the field...yea, embrace the burn.

This play was one of the stupidest decisions I can remember. Sounds like JG was on board with it also. It is an easy run and I was screaming it before the play.
They often times try to outsmart the other team only to outsmart themselves.

Crap.

I think people should stop using "outsmart themselves" when labeling actions like these. I think when you choose to ignore football 101, exclaim that the team is now built for overpowering the opponent and running the football and then choose to do the opposite, it's more accurate to say "outdumb" themselves.

There is no defense that could stop this offense from running it in 1st and goal on the 5. NOBODY pull your heads out coaches.

Every person is not wired the same way as everyone else. Perhaps DeMarco Murray spoke with the coaches in private about Tony Romo's decision-making. Players have been known to be pissed off to high heaven but keep it together enough so they do not provide sideline spectacles during games. Then again, sideline spectacles are entertaining. Maybe Jerry Jones was pissed Murray didn't blow up in front of the cameras.

50cent,I agree with you but is it in DM DNA to get that fired up?

I think so, but I think he's trying to play some sort of balancing act. Not to overreact after game one. However, if it continues I think it's in him. I recall last year when he very emotionally went straight to Garrett and demanded the rock late in the season. I think he was caught off guard vs SF not expecting Romo to secretly audible AGAIN Ala last season. I have full confidence that if this becomes a trend that he will explode in a good way.

The Cowboys, though, will continue to give Romo consent to change plays as he sees fit at the line of scrimmage based on the defensive alignment.

“If you look at the body of work and the efficiency that we’ve had and he’s had, it’s been fairly high,” Garrett said. “Sometimes in certain situations, when it doesn’t work out, people will really highlight that type of a thing. But you have to go back and look at the efficiency of him throwing the football and us running the football over time. That’s been something we’ve used."

“We call running plays, we call passing plays and we implement runs and passes, and every team in the league does it. Sometimes when it doesn’t work out, people overreact to something like that, but you do have to look at the whole body of work. We do that all the time.”

Put that quote on your coaching tombstone Garrett.

We have looked at the body of work. 8-8, 8-8, 8-8.

This is why you continue to fail and this is why you'll never see another NFL head coaching job again.

You've earned it.
