Obviously next week it gets tougher. I think tonight shows you that sticking with the run is going to be key to our success. I see 3 things we need to do to.....

1. Do whatever you can to average 4 yards a carry. Be as creative as possible. If that involves RPO's, Sweeps, using a FB to block, both rb's in the backfield. Ceedee in the backfield. Do whatever you need to do, this is a different offense when we can run the ball.

2. If your still within 10 points don't abandon the run. Don't get shook. You have a defense that can make plays, and if they can't? Your going to lose anyway.

3. Not really run oriented. But if defenses are going to show you that 3rd down "everyone at the LOS" look. Motion pollard or clement out of the backfield instead of leaving the RB into block. Force the d to declare and cover them. If they all out blitz you have a potential big play.

I agree with #3. We need to force defenses to show their hand more often.

I also like how you say “motion Pollard/Clement” but purposely leave out Zeke. You know Clement will barely play if Zeke and Pollard are healthy?

If your OL is struggling you need RBs that hit the hole fast, and that's the problem with Zeke. We saw it tonight with the 3rd n 4th RBs hitting holes full go. The coaches won't sit Zeke in favor of more explosive RBs not named Tony Pollard, and that will hurt. They should rotate 3 RBs in a run heavy offense, but KM throws too much.

True, but thats my point. In those situations we usually leave zeke in their as a blocker. Clement is a pretty good receiver. You want defenses to get out of that look? line him up in the backfield and motion him out. The d drops back dak goes through his progressions normally, d comes you can flip it to him in one on one coverage.

I agree with motioning the RBs and have them shake up LBs...I mean JG used to do that with Lance Dunbar and even Rod Smith. It doesn't seem like they run the routes to take advantage of that type match-up anymore.

Dak is the best QB against the blitz in the NFL so I’m not sure we need to be changing too much. IMO a big part of that is Zeke’s ability to pick up the blitz so not sure motioning him out is the direction I would go either.

There are plenty of matchups where Pollard should motion out though as he’s not a great blocker and linebackers along with good blitzing safeties will get the better of him.

But I do agree we can use more of the McGovern Fullback package and I also think 12 personnel with Jarwin back is an option we should use in the playoffs.
