It's unclear to me why this isn't more touted. Of course, it's #2 in the league, but how often do you hear mention of it? When an opponent lines up in an obvious rushing package, I start thinking about the next play because it's likely going to be a 2 yard gain at best. I don't have anything to add, really, just seems odd this isn't spoken of regularly.

This whole front 7 is fascinating. I really hope durant is not hurt.

He is a big help in those odd packages. Losing him would hurt and I think the coaches really like and trust him.

Terrell mcclain gets no attention but is on a ton of the run stops.

We would only hear about it if it was trash

Gang tackling has become a regular occurrence on run defense -- that much is patently obvious. Lee is significant in leading that trend, although many others contribute to that effort.

I think one D End and weak side LB to go with Smith and Lee... And this defense is top 3

Sean Lee is the WLB.

Jaylon Smith will be the Mike next year and they will also be the Nickel 'backers.

Get a couple of DEs, another young DT wouldn't hurt, try to re-sign Morris Claiborne, re-up Barry Church or J.J. Wilcox and work on depth wherever possible.

You mentioning it was the first I've heard of it.

LB isn't a need if you have Smith at the Mike. Lee as the Will and Smith at the Mike are your main LBs. Wilson, Nacho and whatever depth they sign is more than enough to man the Sam and the 30% of snaps thay position gets.

It's strange their efforts haven't been mentioned more but I guess it's tough to praise a unit that at times looks lost defending the pass. Hopefully tonight was a turning point.
