we ran the ball 11 times in first half. 2 times in second half. what in the heck!?
we ran only 11 plays in 3rd quarter....and only 1 run.... what in the heck!?
we ran only once in the 4th quarter. what in the heck?
and this defense got owned against AZ. yes, the TOP seemed lop sided in the end of the game, but in the first half, we allowed an 8 minute drive, 17 play drive. up to that point, the offense had the ball about 11 minutes and defense only on the field for 5 minutes... so no, they got tired excuses.
TOP in the first half was about even.....start of second half, well rested after half time we allowed a 5.5 minute drive for another score. subsequently next drive another 4.5 minute drive. for another score.
their offense was missing their LAT, their Top WR and their RB...what's the defenses excuse?
the pass defense allowed 3 long pass plays of 20+ yards, two of them 40+ yards...that's inexcusable.
final drive. we knew they were going to run. they ran outside 4 times and succeeed with runs of 15, 11,6, 9 yards. we couldn't contain the outside run.
AZ offensively and defensively owned us. top to bottom we were an average team. looked average. played average. coached average. looked confused. played scared. played not to lose. AZ played to win.
