The Dallas Cowboys offense has scored the fewest rushing TDs in the NFL.

The Dallas Cowboys defense has allowed the most rushing TDs in the NFL.

I wonder what practices are like. What does it look like when the worse rushing offense faces the worse rushing defense in practice every day?

They probably both feel as though they are improving when they practice, only to face the weekly realization that he easiest opponent they will face this season are their own teammates.

The sad irony is that the strongest two components of the 70's Cowboys was their RB squads and their run defense. And the team of the early 90's with their O-line and RB? Nothing else need be said.

The Cowboys RB's ae legendary with Don Perkins, Calvin Hill, Walt Garrison, Duane Thomas, Robert Newhouse, Tony Dorsett, Heschel Walker, Marion Barber, DeMarco Murray, and, of course, Emmitt Smith.

Emmitt Smith once had the record for single season rushing TD's with 25. After 16 games this season, the Cowboys have a total of 5 rushing TD's.

For the 6 seasons from 1966 to 1970, the Cowboys defense was #1 against the run 5 times. In 1968, the Dallas defense held opponents to a total of 2 rushing TD's in a 14-game season. Today, the Cowboys have given up 24 TDs in 16 games, an average of one and a half rushing TD's per game.

Since 2000, the 2 best season long QB performances were 2014 and 2016. It is not a coincidence that these are also the two seasons in which a Cowboys RB led the league in rushing yardage.

Rumors of the demise of the running game in the NFL have been greatly exaggerated but that didn't stop Jerry Jones from accepting this false information hook, line, and sinker. A reversal is in order. The Cowboys must acquire the elements needed for an elite running game. This must be an ongoing process.

FA and draft priorities are easy to spot.

Doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure it out.
They were just as easy to spot during the previous two drafts. And yet....

There are certain positions the Cowboys just don't seem to ever want to upgrade or provide quality depth
