If we are putting up 30 a game our run defense won’t be an issue. Teams won’t be trying to run because they have to keep up...people are not seeing how big this is for offense. Ocho mentioned Dallas could be putting up 30+ game.
Greatest show on turf 2.0 .....
Very true. They didn't have any questions at LT - they had future HOFer Orlando Pace. Their QB Warner got rid of the football so quick, Dak holds it much too long especially for a vet. I do love our kickerNo where close to the greatest show on turf, but we have some pieces.
Yeah Marshall Falk is a big missing piece, along with their offensive line, and coordinator. The Cowboys are closer to the Rams offense of last season which was quite good.Well, I do think we have the quarterback and the receivers, I mean think about it I know it doesn't seem like it but we're not talking about just CD and Pickens imagine if this coating staff learned how to use Turpin to take the top off defenses use blue out of the backfield.. And then you throw out Tolbert occasionally I mean I think we could have that type of offense if we weren't missing this part..
we don't have Marshall Falk give us Marshall Falk.. Also you would need to have a offensive coordinator that really wanted to push things wide open doesn't care what the defense is doing just absolutely pushing the offense because you can have all the pieces in the world but if you don't want to push it you don't scheme and have the plays for it it can't work...
I know it's asking for a lot but it would be crazy if all of a sudden blew turned into a Gibbs type A Marshall Falk like maybe not right out of the box but more than most of us think he might turn into anything besides the receiving threat or someone to break a couple big ones he might turn out to be better than we think this is what I love about this offseason we have a whole bunch of new coaches players we have new threads about defensive lineman and people you're like curious what they're going to do in training camp in preseason it seems a much more fresher outlook than last year.....![]()

What about Marshall Faulk a hall of fame back, it is disrespectful to him comparing a 5th rd pick who has never taken a single snap.We are missing our version of Kurt Warner.
It is laughable to compare our current weapons to one of the best offenses ever to play, they have multiple hall of fame players. Our offense has potential with some of our new additions, but people got to stop with these over reactions.Well, I do think we have the quarterback and the receivers, I mean think about it I know it doesn't seem like it but we're not talking about just CD and Pickens imagine if this coating staff learned how to use Turpin to take the top off defenses use blue out of the backfield.. Actually, it's not it's what fans do we can debate anything...It is laughable to compare our current weapons to one of the best offenses ever to play, they have multiple hall of fame players. Our offense has potential with some of our new additions, but people got to stop with these over reactions.
By alternate and second response to that is yeah the Cowboys have had things similar to that I mean just a few years back we've been had the number one offense we had the who should have been MVP at quarterback we even had a few years before that had three receivers that nearly had 1000 yards and we had an Ezekiel Elliott that was pretty damn good but we've been snake bit at the wrong times that's what I used as a bad word for what goes on in the playoffs or the big games just if anything can go wrong it has gone wrong... So yes this George Pickens edition I don't think it's any bigger than Amari Cooper in 2018 we went to the second round of the playoffs when we should have been completely out of it we caught fire we had bad luck in the second round that was on the defense you know they they just didn't stand up that day but we did have the offense that was supposed to be able to pretty much run with anyone and we have had that I don't know how many number one offenses Prescott's been a part of it's been a couple but most of his career when he's been healthy and had a healthy team in any decent weapons we've been in the top three if not the top five almost his whole career in offense so yeah we need more total team effort here on all sides of the ball and coaching staff to come together to have any kind of chance at becoming a great team but there's nothing wrong with fantasizing about it...It is laughable to compare our current weapons to one of the best offenses ever to play, they have multiple hall of fame players. The best offense we had over the last 20 seasons, was probably the Murray/Romo squad that was beaten in GB. That team had a legitimate, offensive, balanced attack. Defense was average at best and wouldn't of matter if Dez caught that ball or not as the defense wasn't going to stop Rodgers.By alternate and second response to that is yeah the Cowboys have had things similar to that I mean just a few years back we've been had the number one offense we had the who should have been MVP at quarterback we even had a few years before that had three receivers that nearly had 1000 yards and we had an Ezekiel Elliott that was pretty damn good but we've been snake bit at the wrong times that's what I used as a bad word for what goes on in the playoffs or the big games just if anything can go wrong it has gone wrong... so I'll give you that that we're overreacting a bit to George Pickens we have had that here already and it failed we have had some of the best runners in football and Ezekiel Elliott and Demarco Murray and it still failed and they were running behind one of the best offensive lines in football and it still failed in the playoffs...
To be honest, if this offense finds a strong running game, they can potentially be real good, but winning in this league is about the team not just 1 unit.Actually, it's not it's what fans do we can debate anything...
it's being in a fantasy world of social media,
we can try to imagine where our pieces might fit we do have some similar pieces, I said we're missing the key one the coaching staff that's willing to have a wide open offense and Marshall Faulk..yes sometimes that's all you need that's why a guy like Terrell Davis at the right time put Elway's career where it needed to be if not he'd have been known for not being able to win the big game sometimes that one piece.. You know like Matthew Stafford landing on the Rams just at the right time he wasn't that great he led the league in interceptions he threw two interceptions in a Super Bowl by his presence hit at the right moment saquan Barkley last year with the Eagles the final piece the thing they were really truly missing...I know what you're going to say the Cowboys are not one piece away but you never know that year every one didn't expect it and all of a sudden it happens a whole bunch of unexpected production from players that we didn't think would have their career years at coaching staff that found the rhythm with the players and just got on a roll it happens....that's why I'm saying we're missing Marshall Faulk, we don't have that type of player at the moment even though we have one that has potential to be a guy like that but it takes the coaching staff the schemes a lot of those other teams people are talking about Sean Mcvey and the lions had Ben Johnson with the right tools,I'm not sure why Green Bay keeps being put in here their offense is not that threatening it's just solid we could do that I mean I don't know where that's coming from we somehow strive to be the Green Bay Packers team it's really not anything special it's just been successful of late but they're not doing anything the Cowboys haven't done recently, I mean we just won 36 games in two division titles we've been part of a whole lot of top offenses in football but the Packers don't belong in this conversation that could be easily recreated and it might be the closest that we are right now...
I think people dismiss the fact that you have a coaching staff that's willing to do something like that; throw out time of possession, throw out what football is supposed to be all about as far as strong run, first stop the run, play great defense ,
sometimes you just have an offense like that and you just go for broke the whole concepts even back in the run day with air Coriol and they had a lot of wide open offenses like in Houston the running gun or running shoot or wherever the hell it was called there's been some of those the thing you have to do is be a willing to run it and yes it's nice to have the pieces but you also have to have the willingness to not give a flying you know what to just absolutely dictate everything and throw out all old school thoughts on how you're supposed to play offense and defense and that's how you do it it don't always work we saw Chip Kelly try to do it with the Eagles it didn't work...
But you do realize that that was an accident as well kurt Warner was an undrafted free agent who was sitting there in Trent Green was supposed to be the answer and that all of a sudden things just went that direction for them and there's nothing wrong with the Cowboys fans thinking it could happen for them someday it could be just out of the blue just sudden..
So it's not a big deal, it's not silly at all why is it laughable, that we can't talk about it ??!!
it's ironic, because we're in fantasy world right now that's all we do is play hyperbole ,rhetoric ,give everyone's opinions ,and try to put comps on players and coaches that that's the only thing fans can do everything else is just us watching football we can breakdown games all you want but really the rest of this is fantasy world...Isn't that what social media does isn't that what ESPN and content creators do all these rankings all this nonsense about who they're picking to go all the way and rank all the players it's all coming from absolute guessing, they're using past data..No one really knows how this season's going to go so if we want to have fun with it we're allowed to fantasize a bit and that is not silly that is just how fans are fanatics you get it let me know...
Now if we only had Kurt Warner….The "Greatest Show on Turf," the St. Louis Rams' offense from 1999 to 2001, featured a talented receiving corps, including Isaac Bruce, Torry Holt, and Az-Zahir Hakim.
These players, along with running back Marshall Faulk and quarterback Kurt Warner, formed a powerful unit that dominated the league.
Key Receivers:
Isaac Bruce:
A veteran receiver known for his reliability and ability to make contested catches.
(sounds like George Pickens)
Torry Holt:
A dynamic and explosive receiver who could create big plays with his speed and athleticism.
(sounds like CeeDee Lamb)
Az-Zahir Hakim:
A second-year receiver who also excelled as a return specialist, contributing with his speed and ability to make big plays.
(sounds like KaVontae Turpin)
Impact on the Offense:
Big Plays:
The Rams' offense, with these receivers, focused on creating big plays and scoring quickly, establishing a fast-paced, high-scoring style.
Recruiting and Drafting:
The Rams strategically drafted and acquired players, like Holt, to build upon their existing talent and create a strong receiving corps.
Hall of Fame Status:
Bruce and Holt, along with other key players like Warner and Faulk, went on to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, solidifying their legacy as members of a historic team.
In addition to these main receivers, the Rams also had other talented players in the receiving game, such as:
Ricky Proehl: A veteran receiver who provided valuable depth and experience.
Marshall Faulk: While primarily a running back, Faulk also contributed as a receiver, making him a versatile weapon.
(sounds like Jaydon Blue)
The "Greatest Show on Turf" was a team known for its high-scoring, pass-first mentality, and these receivers were a key part of that success.
Sounds like this is what the Cowboys new coaching staff is trying to build: The Greatest Show on Turf 2.0
so would both great wr's running curls on opposite sides too!![]()
Hey, you will break their dislike bubble being even remotely positive.Look at the excitement that the Pickens trade is bringing ... you'd think it was like Philly Eagles front office manuever ... lol
Wilson hasnt been the same since the Legion of Boom faded away.I don't think Wilson has been the same since he left Seattle. Maybe he's missing his old OC?
That's what I said, it's also more than just one person hanging records on the quarterback and the head coach alone is insane...To be honest, if this offense finds a strong running game, they can potentially be real good, but winning in this league is about the team not just 1 unit.
