Rust, Pride, Toilet Paper, and Buzzsaws

It's not an anomaly, it's a continuation of the last 30 years. Nothing has changed, and it won't until the JonesBoys no longer have anything to do with the football side of things.
Yeah, one wants to think that one has nothing to do with the other, but there’s just a bad omen or cloud or karma around this organization. Life has a strange way of getting even with you, and Jerry hasn’t exactly led the most wholesome life.

Then he still has the nerve to publicly say “you ask yourself what did I do to deserve this?”

The losses don’t hurt like they used to. I’ve become accustomed to it (although Jerry wants us to ‘look over there’ on Netflix about 30 years ago), and I know it makes him miserable, so there’s a certain silver lining. Yes, I hate him that much.

Hopefully CP grabs the opportunity and maximizes the learning from this failure.
Would be a shame to waste an epic failure and not learn anything lol
I agree 100% Hawk about the opportunity to learn.

Although the guys who lead this organization never seem to learn the lessons of nepotism and insulated echo chamber leadership styles.

EVery year, Cowboys fans hope that the Jones boys will get tired of losing and failing the same way year after year and learn they are the biggest problem this team faces. Will year 31 wake them up?

If as Shakespeare said, “Past is prologue”, it is highly doubtful these guys will ever wake up and look in the mirror.

I agree about the Jones being a huge part of the problem. But I will say this:

They don’t play the game.

Stupid mistakes like the taunting penalty, lack of effort, mental errors, lack of physicality at the point of attack are all player related and coach related issues.

I seriously doubt JJ and the FO are verbally casting a vision for a soft team. Players need to do their job with focus, heart, toughness, and pride. I get that the “country club” atmosphere has a lot of negative effects— BUT as a player, you are still a man and a pro and folding and wilting when you get punched shows a lack of heart and grit.

And some of the players on that side are better than the weak display they put out yesterday lol. Somebody needed to lower the boom, get inna fight, show some fight etc… for their own pride and love of the game if for nothing else.

Instead? Gutlessness. That is on them as much as it is on the old man IMO

Rust - Our 83 year old GM that looks 103 years old

Pride - No pride. 31 years and counting.

Toilet Paper - I need extra when the Cowboys play

Buzzsaw - Week to week average players that shine against the Cowboys. Lively was a good example last night.

Last night was a display of the current state of the team. Why did we lose? Here is a quick breakdown:

Rust: These were the first snaps for the starters in meaningful football in months, and it showed. They were sluggish and hesitant at points, and the decision making was erratic. This will improve over time IMO.

Pride: They ate the cheese and assumed all was fixed and that they were ready to feast on a weak opponent based on years of dominance. They assumed wrong.

Toilet Paper: They were as soft as wet TP out there. They were out hustled and the Giants simply took their lunch money. Lots of work in this dept. Not sure if Schotty has the skillset to fix this.

Buzzsaws: The Giants viewed this game as their collective “statement” game. National TV. 25th anniversary of 9/11 for NYC— new coach, ecstatic fans, and a hated rival. They wanted to prove that they should be taken seriously and accomplished that. We walked right into their buzzsaw in week one— I think it will be a different result when we see them again.

Flush week one down the drain, get back to work, and just win week 2
Yes and no. This team had OTAs and TC. They came out and got beat by high school football plays. Really? WTH did they practice for?

No excuses, this team is worse than the 25 season because now, the offense is worse.

GREAT POST.

I'm as far from a Jerry apologist as you'll ever find but at some point player accountability in regards to team failure is the real issue.
Players play and coaches coach.
This team is extremely lacking in both categories.

It's NOT JUST poor front office management regardless if a majority here want to use it as their catch all rationale to this consistent losing.
