No not kidding it is how it is you win your division and you get home field. NFL is not changing the rule because the Cowboys will go into the post season with 12 wins or better vs likely Tampa Bay with a worse record. I love the Cowboys but it is how it is and has been. You want to change it? write to the league otherwise all the crying in the world is not changing a damn thing.

I’m not whining. I’m saying it’s a dumb rule and giving you logical reasons why it is a dumb rule. I’m saying why settle for a dumb rule, and say, it is what it is! Fix it!

The NFL has changed many rules in the past, but now that it has gone Woke who knows what the NFL will do.

who, who is fixing it? League like it as is or else it would have been changed. There are teams barely over 500 who will be in the playoffs yet teams with winning records will not be in post season. why bother with the division or regular season? just have AFC and NFC no division and top teams get to post season? Woke has nothing to do with it.

I think the majority of NFL owners like it right now, but if their was enough kick back by other owners, fans, and players, the NFL might do the right thing and change it.

Your probably correct, this particular issue has little, or nothing, to do with wokeness, BUT a lot of the decisions by the NFL and Roger “politically correct” Goodell have EVERYTHING to do with WOKENESS! Have you noticed some of the NFL commercials? Do most hard working, middle class, conservative fans agree with these commercials?

right now all I give a damn about is Cowboys going out and playing quality football in post season road or home. Thankfully Cowboys travel well with many fans who will be at the game wearing their colors. As Jimmy once said if you are good enough it does not matter where you play. As for commercials sorry I don't pay much attention to commercials normally that is the time I get up to move around

There is no change that is actually any more fair than what we have now.
Every team plays six games within the division. Some years the division winner may be the only good team and go 6-0 or 5-1 in those games while other competitive divisions are splitting games and everyone is going 4-2 or 3-3. Suddenly that throws off the 17 game W-L record too.

If I could change anything, I’d add 1 more wild card team and have all teams playing in the first week of the playoffs. Having one team with a better record taking a week off and playing only 2 games to reach the SB while everyone else must play 3 games is unfair in my mind, especially when strength of schedule and division affects which team gets that bye.

However, I would eliminate the stupid two week layoff before the SB game. That is not needed. I would give all teams making the playoff a bye week to heal and rest. One week before the playoffs start, and then 4 straight weeks of playoff football with no extra week for the SB teams.

The NFL has already considered a re-seeding process in the past, but there is a problem with it.

If you reseed without any advantage for winning your division, playing in a tough division, playing in an easy division, etc. then you are giving an inherent advantage and disadvantage to some teams every year.

Winning a division has to mean something or else there is little reason to have divisions.

To me the best way to reward division winners while being fair would be to do this ..

Select four (4) wildcard teams (instead of 3) and make the wildcard week of playoff games only include the wildcard teams so every division winner gets a BYE week as a reward for winning their division.

Then, once wildcard games produce their two (2) winning teams, they could reseed all teams in each conference based on win-loss record.

That would still provide a reward for teams winning their division (getting a BYE week) while being fair to teams with great records that happened to play in a division with other teams that had even better records.
Read my suggestion, similar, but I say give all 8 teams in the conference playoffs a bye week to get healthy and focused. Then play the games 4 straight weeks through the SB. I hate the 2 week break prior to the SB and see no reason for it. Move that week to give everyone a bye week and hopefully have better games throughout.

LOL!

Sorry again, but it still sounds stupid to say TB won their division on merit.

We do reward mediocrity in America today. Is that why so many fans are okay keeping a stupid rule that rewards, gives merit, to mediocrity?

You know what sounds stupid, people that continue to whine every year about how the NFL runs their league, the owners want the divisions, they want the certain rules, they want competitive balance,, if you don't like go watch another sport because the owners don't care what you or I think, they care about one thing...MONEY..
