Mark Ingram - RB - Player NFL Network's Mike Lombardi reports that at least two running back-needy teams have removed Alabama RB Mark Ingram from their draft boards.
"I've had two teams tell me the knee is very bad," said Lombardi. "He won't be on their boards. They're teams that need running backs." Mike Mayock is also "not so sure" Ingram will be a first-rounder. The consensus is that there's better value on mid-round backs, as opposed to Ingram in the first. Look for the Patriots to have a chance to draft Ingram at No. 33 overall.

Of course Ingram would go 33rd to the Patriots, that's after they steal a couple additional picks from teams next year including a 1st rounder, work their way around the 1st round and get a gift.

That's their luck.

The way the Pats have stocked up on draft choices, if they ever get a draft where they hit all the picks before say round 6 the rest of the NFL could be screwed. we are just lucky that they have wasted a lot of them.

Getty ImagesAlabama running back Mark Ingram underwent arthroscopic knee surgery on August 31 of last year, just prior to the start of the college season. He missed only two games, returning on September 18 to thump the Duke Blue Devils for 151 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries.

Ingram would go on to average 5.54 yards per carry on the season, down from his Heisman-winning 6.12 mark as a sophomore, but still plenty admirable considering the stiff competition in the Southeastern Conference.

How convenient for them to let it slip that they would remove him from their draft board. ;) and then make sure it goes public.

Hmmm, hello #33.

The Patriots used to be a team that I couldn't find anything to dislike about, but they are very sneaky.

You want something more disgusting to think about?

They load up on ammo this year and make a play for the #1 pick next draft.......just in time for a great QB prospect and limited rookie pay.

Despite the fact that this years' draft may be the NFL fans' only enjoyment for a good while, i do think it's wise for Dallas to trade away a pick or two for next year.

Lockout year picks are worth much less than a year where football is actually played. Draft picks this year are at a disadvantage with limited coaching before the season starts.

Trading while (and if) there's a traditional trade for next years picks (for example, trading this years second yields next years first) Then Dallas should definitely do it!

I'm not really that up for it unless you get really good return. The Pats seem to get top notch in their trades. If Dallas could get something along those lines I'd be all for it.

Patriots draft history....really no better than we are, despite the fact that they have had many more high picks.

What NE does so well is get great value when trading players....like they did with Deion Branch, Matt Cassel and with trading second rounders this year for first rounders next year.

Typical pre-draft garbage. Ingram switched agents to try and get ahead of this.

But it looks like he could be another Thurman Thomas come draft day with the Pats being the beneficiaries.
