And people think Leary can somehow garner a 2nd round pick in a trade???? While Leary is a solid player, starting caliber OGs are a lot easier to find than Pro Bowl caliber LTs.

Deals like this show Leary's true value. He's worth more to the team than what we could fetch in a trade.

The 5th rounder wasn't the true price.
Salary.

Good, quick move the Jets in an effort to at least fill that Ferguson retirement void with something more than a total dud

Clady was hurt in 2013 and 2015. Only played in 2014 for a full season lately. Trade makes sense for both teams. Low risk move for the Jets, salary dump for the Broncos

It's somewhat ironic that the Jets replace their retiring LT who missed one play in a 10 season career with a guy who has played 35% of the Broncos' games the last three seasons.

When healthy, Clady is a very good LT. The problem is, he hasn't been healthy in a while, and I doubt that he will suddenly become more durable. The Jets didn't give up much in the deal, but the Broncos freed up cap space, and moved up two rounds in the draft for trading a guy that they were going to cut anyway.
