Ryan Cook

It's embarrassing that Cook didn't even snap the ball and was hit by two Bucs players who jumped the snap, BIG TIME? There was a reason that Garrett was ticked, and flags were flying in from everywhere on that last play.

I know what happen, but it happen twice. The first one there were no flags.

One of the retired NFL coaches should call him and give some friendly advice IMO. Shula, Johnson, yada would be appropriate. Then an unofficial call from the commissioner's office if that doesn't work. One of his deputies should handle the dirty work.

I think all that really needs to happen is that a few teams send a guy out and the Bucs get lit up for 6 a couple of times. That would solve it IMO.

I have no problem with them trying to get the ball. The D just giving up on plays seems silly. But yeah, I'm all for teams lighting them up.

They could also hand out a few unsportsmanlike penalties as well as fines to go with it for doing that. It's bullflop because the likelihood of actually creating a TO is negligible.

TE is a tough spot for us this year. Hanna clearly is not going to contribute in the blocking game. Witten is hobbled and Phillips isn't a great blocker. We are in a tough spot b/c Witten is the best blocker of the bunch -- and he's not nearly as good as he used to be.

Too bad the deal with Kellen Davis didn't work out - he'd help a bunch right now

Let's just say you are right (I don't disagree), wouldn't you bring in an extra guard to block? Lots of teams do that...just report eligible and see what happens. You have to think outside of the "box" in my opinion. Then again I'm coaching from my sofa not the sidelines.

Im sure Cook has a little to do with it but the MAIN source for all of our pre-snap penalties is the amount of adjustments we do before the ball is snapped.

Until we speed up our cadences and play with more tempo we'll just keep see'ing more and more penalties.

Romo is reading the defense. This is why it takes so long. Considering Romo is one of the better QBs at reading the defense pre snap, I suggest Cook just get his side figured out.

But it is an actual snap -- there is no rule on the books that says you have to just give up.

Garrett has already said that it's a cadence issue which means it's Cook not getting the snap off when he's suppose to and screwing the rest of the OLs timing.

And since we don't really have a legit option at center right now, we basically are stuck hoping that Cook gets it down better.

While we have been known to have false starts, the pace this year is way above normal.

As far as center goes, the one option people had talked about was getting Bernadeau some work there and then either putting Dockery in the starting lineup or acquiring Holland to play the guard spot. Having watched Bernadeau struggle at guard, I doubt he would be able to handle center effectively with the additional duties.

Right now, the hope is that Costa or Killer can come back and take over the center spot and possibly move Cook to Guard and try Parnell at RT. Right now Livings and Free are fine and Cook is doing ok but the right side is just a cluster.
