He was one I wouldn't have minded. Yes, he throws a lot of INTs, but he is still capable of being accurate when he is not trying to be a hero.

The gambit with Kellen Moore is very scary if you sit and actually think about him playing meaningful football.

And I also don't believe for a second that Tony Romo could simply toss off his headset in the broadcaster's booth and hit the field in an emergency.

Romo stumbling from the booth slightly inebriated directly to the field would be better than Kellen Moore

I would have loved Fitzpatrick as a back-up. He got his 1st big contract due to his play when Palmer blew out his knee in Cincy. Remember even the venerable Kitna was Journeyman and turnover machine when he landed here. He retired with 169/165 TD/INT Ratio

Me too. Good, solid, reliable QB. Would he accept backup money. Whats going on behind the scenes with a player like Fitzpatrick.

Yep. Romo will never play football for the Cowboys again. The NFL doesn't work that way. Moore is a 3rd stringer. Fitzpatrick would be a good option for the Cowboys.

You guys act as if you forgot Cooper Rush is on this roster.

I'm bummed about this. I believe he would have been an upgrade over Moore or Sanchez.

I actually like Sanchez as a person, and some of his skill sets are good. If he weren't such a turnover machine, he's who I would want as the backup QB. Turnovers wipe out the advantage of any other skills a QB has. Of course, there's no QB who never turns it over, but Sanchez just plain does it to stinkin' much. Is there any chance the coaches can work with him to improve this problem or is Sanchez just a lost cause?

You will have to ask Chicago Coaches...

Wow. Somebody needs to grease the wheels in the college game & get them to start training QBs for the NFL again.

I just have a hard time picturing him running a team geared up for Winston. And I don't think he'd play bus driver very well here, either.

Winston is not Cam, yeah he is not a statue but he is no Tarkenton either. Fitzpatrick will do fine there if he has to start, he is slightly more inconsistent than Winston.

Had to give you a like because of your Winston remark, but Fitz isn't a good QB so I don't see him doing fine anywhere.

Kitna really surprised me in 2010. The book on him capable of putting points on the board, but was highly erratic. Kind of the new Jim Everrett. But he came in a played very under control here

Fitz stinks. He is nothing more than a decent backup QB who had a successful year with the Jets due to a poor schedule. This guy should be thankful he has made as much money as he has.
