As good as the offense is, I think we still have another gear to be downright scary. Specifically better relief for Williams (hopefully Blue develops) and Flournoy as the solidified #3. Flournoy has shown really incredible flashes. I think his size/ skill set makes a better #3 than Turpin and he seems to be just better than Tolbert. Lamb/Pickens/Furg and Flournoy would be awesome. Does anyone feel like Tolbert is taking away reps from Flournoy? Allow Turpin to get some reps/gadget plays etc.. Ironically the end around to Flournoy faked to Furg shovel pass that failed was open for Flournoy. Flournoy takes the offense to Rams 99-01 type levels. Thoughts?

At this point, as much as I liked Tolbert when we drafted him, he just isn't dynamic enough. Especially when we have players like Turpin, Flournoy and Blue.

Fair but we're taking about really good to awesome! I'd like to see us have the ability to just "bleed" a defense. Think Ricky Proehl/Az-Zahir Hakim alongside Bruce/Holt. The offense is great but can be even better imo.
This defense isn’t a Fluornoy away from being awesome. Respectfully. He’s a solid depth guy. But it’s only one football.

Agree 100%!!!!

Tolbert is soft as charmin. He can’t block( called for holding yesterday). He has no run after the catch ability. He is a ghost out there!

Flourney has more talent and especially more attitude. The game Flourney started his run after the catch was awesome. His straight arm to a defenders face was great and instinctive.

I will say it. This offense WOULD be even better if Flourney took ALL of Tolbert’s snaps. Tolbert brings almost nothing to this offense!!!

People underrate the big time catches he’s made for us.
People do for sure. The Cowboys however don't. Tolbert has been taking more snaps than both Flournoy and Turpin consistently throughout the season. It's for the same reasons that Noah Brown stuck around for so long. He's consistent, assignment sound, a willing blocker, plays special teams, and does the dirty work without the ball in his hands. Fans are suckers for speed, combine measurements, and training camp highlights. Coaches are suckers for players who they can depend on. I like Flournoy and the way he's fought his way on to this roster. His job is about to get even tougher with the return of J. Mingo, and that's a real good problem for the Dallas Cowboys to have. They've got a legit battle for WR3, WR4, and WR5 going on right now.

between him and turpin, its a good set of #3s....

Always: The more weapons the better.

Flourney is definitely explosive weapon that could be a matchup nightmare for a teams 3rd corner!!!!!

Tolbert doesn’t scare anyone!!

What is the love for Tolbert? He is wasted snaps.

I am 100% positive Flourney is a much better all around receiver than Tolbert. It’s not even close!!!!

What has Tolbert done with his snaps?

Almost nothing!
Don’t ask him to block! He gets shoved around like a rag doll or holds or both.

Tolbert is probably the worst WR in the NFL. Flourney's shown enough to overtake him - give him the chance.

I don’t think it matters it’s clear GP and Lamb and Ferg will get all the touches.
Of course it matters!
You have 5 eligible receivers on every play. You want ALL OF THEM to be as talented as possible. The more talent you have the harder it is to stop your offense.

Tolbert brings VERY little to this offense.

I don’t think it matters. The one or two targets Tolbert gets doesn’t hurt us.

Tolbert may be capable of big plays, more accomplished and be a 3rd round pick as well as having Dak as a sponsor but he's in the last year of his deal and disappears for games at a time.

Flournoy has the higher ceiling from what I can tell and has shown up for every opportunity he's gotten this season. Even if you just look at the catches: targets ratios and yards per catch for each player, Flournoy has out-performed Tolbert. On top of that, he's got good size and is probably just as good of a blocker, or at least close to as good and plays special teams.

He deserves to be higher on the depth chart.

Where & when does lack of separation enter into the equation?

That is what Tolbert seems to lack the most vrs Flourney....

Its why our secondary looked great vrs Commanders yesterday....their backups had no separation

There are plays where one block can make a difference and Tolbert consistently loses blocks, which, a more physical WR like Flournoy would make. Tolbert rarely gets separation, and doesn't block well...it's nothing until he costs you something. Flournoy is better in every way, period. Who's to say another WR wouldn't make the catches Tolbert has made, however, we do know Tolbert is a weak blocker, a weak route runner, a sorry STs player, and weak with the ball in his hands (hasn't broke a tackle in 3 years). It gets funny when a guy plays because the QB likes or the Coach likes him and he's not the better player.
