Ryan Mallett in third round?

Not a chance. In any round. In todays game you need athletic QB's that can move around. His game just doesn't translate to the NFL that well IMO.

Agree with that... You cant have a statue back there at QB....The days of Brady, Manning, etc. are about to be over.

The athletic QB is going to be the new fad, and its gonna be here forever.

You have defensive ends and linebackers running 4.4 fortys, gotta have some mobility back there.

He got compared to Dan McGuire in Total Access tonight. Big, strong, cannon arm, can't move or play in the NFL.

Mallett is dropping. What if he was still there at the 9th pick of the third round? Would you take him? I know I would.

He wont be dropping into the 3rd rd, not unless some serious dirt comes out.

Too big, too impressive an arm and was really good in the SEC in a prostyle offense.

I still think he'll go int he first, but if not I'm sure he'll go early 2nd.

He's been playing in a prostyle offense in the SEC against NFL calibar defensive talent.

He obviously needs to go to a team with a strong OL, but he has the tools to be pretty good.

He's no less mobile then guys like Payton Manning or Tom Brady.

I would fade as a fan if we wasted a pick on him.

This is going to hit a nerve but it says ALOT about you as a "fan"

One draft pick is all it would take. Wow

It was a joke. I guess you missed the Awakened thread last year. (Look under his username.)

But I do think Mallett is a nutcase, and his empty head will ruin the immense talent he has.

My bad then, I never caught on to that joke:eek::

Some good memories of Dan McGuire:

I would but Jerry Jones would not.

It would make Tony Romo uncomfortable and we do not allow that.

Parcells was doing that game along with Marv Albert don't remember him in the booth doing games back then.

Mallett make Philip Rivers look like a matured adult.

Few highly touted QBs have ever screamed "bust" as loudly as Mallett. Dude has all the classic symptoms: Poor attitude, classes with coaches and teammates, infamous substance issues, accuracy concerns, immobile, and overconfidence in his arm.

Poor attitude - False
Clashes with coaches and teammates - totally false
Infamous substance issues - maybe smoked weed, but "infamou"?
Accuracy concerns - easily the most accurate deep ball in the college game, Immobile - pretty much
Overconfidence in his arm - Have you seen how far he can throw it?

Yessir! Completely agree that he needs an oline like the Colts had for many years. Mallet can throw the ball, there is NO question about that.

I would take him in the 3rd every time.

I don't want a QB in round 1 under any circumstance. I'd take Cam Newton at 9 over either of them.

Other than Andy Dalton, there isn't a QB in this draft that I would want the Cowboys to consider.

He has walked out of Arkansas practices and talks tons of trash (even to his own teammates in practice). He constantly tries to fit passes between two and three defenders because he has too much confidence in his arm. His short and medium accuracy is a big cause for concern.

He earned six unsportsmanlike conduct penalties in college (unheard of for a QB), was thrown out of a high school game for taunting an injured defensive lineman and supposedly failed a drug test at Michigan. His marijuana use is legendary in Texarkana. He got busted for distribution his junior year of HS and his dad paid his way out.

He can throw the ball a mile, though...but so could Jeff George and JaMarcus Russell.
