Ryan Tannehill is still a FA

Tannehill probably just doesn't want to play for a backup salary, or I'm sure a team would have signed him by now.

I don't know that there's a market for him that he wants, but he probably doesn't have much appetite to make $2m and hold a clipboard.

Ryan Tannehill is another Vinny Testaverde. Still better than Cooper Rush and Trey Lance at this moment.

In a league literally starved for even decent QB play, there’s a reason why Ryan Tannehill is still available.
Derrick Henry got Tannehill that contract extension after the 2019 AFC title run they had. Henry set the tone for that offense and defenses had to key on him big time. Causing the field to be wide open for Tannehill to make some easy passes and look better than what he was. When Henry was contained or didn't play, Tannehill's production nosedived.

Wow. Imagine that. A great running game creating opportunities for the QB. Please forward this message to the Star, attention Jerry and Stephen Jones.

The moment Lance is moved to the PS he will be signed by another quarterback desperate team to be their second or third quarterback on their active roster (to justify the PS signing).

We have a veteran backup already in Rush.

If the Cowboys were not happy or confident in Rush then they would simply replace him with another player rather than sign a backup for the backup quarterback.
Lance has really made things interesting around here.

He might get picked up after week 1.

Vets signed to contracts after week 1 are not guaranteed, or something like that.
