Murray runs very smooth and effortlessly. Whereas Williams looks tough and punishing by crashing into people and bowling over anyone near him. I like it! :)

Murray runs over people, never forget the Eagles DL he made do a flip

I haven't watched too much of the twos and threes this pre season so I haven't seen him. Unless he does it against the ones it doesn't mean much to me. Phillip Tanner looed good last year against the backups.

to me where williams has the most value is if murray goes dowm. i think he can step in as the starter and be very productive. not sure you can have 4 rbs active each week and randle can play special teams so it may be that you have to have him inactive some but his real value is insurance because he does have starter ability

Can't read too much into it, but when he cramped up, the camera cut to Jason Garrett, who looked frustrated. I'm going to take that as a small sign that the team likes him and intends to keep him.

Not sure how that works as far as Randle is concerned. Randle's better on Teams, no doubt.

Listening to Williams post-game, though, it's hard not to like the guy. He just wants to play, and to prove himself, and he's a lifelong Cowboy fan. Pretty easy to root for him making it. Personally, I keep him and cut the FB if I can't work out a trade for a LB from somebody.

I think Dunbar is consistently overrated too. Yeah he's quick but he just runs fast - he doesn't wait for blocks to set up. Plus for the few opportunities he has he usually falls down, fumbles, or gets hurt.

does anyone remember Julius Jones

I can't believe some of you hate Dunbar so much.

That guy is a little bit of experience away from making our offense a lot better.

He just needs to play and I hate that the Cowboys didn't use him much in the preseason.

He looks clunky, sloppy, and like a player that hasn't played a lot, but the speed and vision are there.

Put me down as a Dunbar fan and i'll say that once it clicks for him he is going to change the dynamic of our offense and scare defenses a lot when he is on the field.

The difference is that Williams was considered a blue chip talent coming out. If not for injury would have been a first rounder instead of 2nd rounder.

I know playing special teams is a factor for backup running backs but Williams looks to have that extra gear. His power has been surprising to me. If healthy, I think he can be a 1000 yard back. (Granted we have not seen much of him) Right now, I don't think I could say that about Dunbar or randle.

You always have to be careful about backup running backs in preseason. It seems every team has one who shines and disappears once the season starts. With that being said, he looks legit on the eye test.

our best running back does not deserve these comments #29 is a Pro Bowl Back.

I meant no disrespect to Murray. I like him. I think he's really good. I just see things in Williams running style I like better, such as his footwork, balance, and vision. He really did a nice job blocking as well against the Dolphins, but he's not in Murray's league in that category yet. Both guys run hard and with a mean streak. Hopefully they will both be healthy contributors for the team this year.

I meant no disrespect to Williams (or You :)) Williams bumps Randall to the 4th back, if we keep 4. Tough runner, will mix well behind Murray

I like Dunbar.. but I also like Williams (and you already know I LOVE DeMarco). Randle may be the odd man out unless we're keeping 4 rbs.

Thanks. And no disrespect intended to you as well. One thing is for certain, we have a good stable of backs this year and that's not a bad problem to have. The team makes me nervous in a lot of areas, but running back is not one of them.
