Intriguing because the guy can run. Blount turned in a time of 4.38 in the 40-yard dash for NFL scouts last spring, and he enters this season with coaches more intent than ever on seeing that speed with the ball in his hand.
"I want to make some plays this year," said Blount, a Tampa native who is a distant relative of Mel Blount, the Pittsburgh Steeler Hall of Fame cornerback. "The past three years I've been a special teams guy. This year I want to improve, be the slot receiver, and get open on the plays the coaches send in for me."
