I'm not sure when I've ever seen a player bench press another guy during a game.
You aren't seriously dissing the positive affect bench pressing and upper body strength have on football player's game are you?
I played in high-school, at a real small school. We had no lifting program back then (early '80s) and my upper body was pretty weak. I got into lifting in college and my best bench press was like 265. I didn't think that was bad considering my size (175), the fact that I wasn't in structured, pro-instructed training program and I wasn't on 'roids like a lot of people I knew. (And I partied, hard-core, all the time, LOL.)
I went back and played in an alumni football game 10 years after high-school and was totally shocked at how much stronger I was after a few years of lifting. I was easily pushing guys around that used to handle me in high-school. And these were dudes that logged and did construction work, not office workers.
Kyle Wilson, barring injuries, should have a nice NFL career. He will be able to jack up WRs at the LOS and run with nearly any of them when he has to. And he has a good head on his shoulders.
Wilson is going to do his 40 at BSU's pro day. I may have to swing down there and check it out. I think he clocked his fastest 40 at BSU's practice facility last year, a low 4.3 when the Charger's scouts were there.
