LaRon Landry-DB- Commanders Apr. 18 - 6:03 pm et

Commanders S LaRon Landry said he plans to bulk up to 240 pounds for this season because he plans on playing in the box more.

Landry was listed at 210 last season while playing at free safety. The new regime apparently envisions him playing more strong safety out of the 3-4, and it makes sense. Run support has never been an issue for the former No. 6 overall pick in the 2007 draft.

Heck, you can throw on him anyway, regardless of the weight gain. He's a overrated BUM. Dude makes a tackle 15yrds downfield and gets up with his arms folded and celebrates. He's a JOKE!!!!

When I think of Landry in run support, I think of Jacobs knocking him senseless last year.

Yeah, what would be worse than that? Except for, maybe seeing him out run our entire defense.

If any of you would like to see what Taylor Mays would be like in the NFL..

Look no further than Laron Landry.

Still want him?

Eric Berry is eons better a prospect than Leron Landry was.

I bet they had similar grades on the majority of teams' boards coming out.

If Landry bulks up to a 240lb SS, do the Skins go after Berry as FS? Personally, I hope the Skins take Clausen or trade back.

God no please. He would be a negative influence on Berry.

I bet they dont. And if some team did, they need to rethink the guys in their scouting department. There's no comparison between the two. Landry was never as good on the field at LSU as Berry has been at Tennessee.

How they play at the collegiate level isn't the best gauge of how they project to the pros. And the Skins didn't reach for Landry at 6. There's just not much room for the draft to prove you right that Berry's eons better as a prospect.

He may end up being eons better as a pro, and I think he will be, but that's not the same thing.

Its not hard to see when you watch SEC football all the time. One guy was constantly all over the place, making plays vs the run and pass. Rarely misses a tackle and plays with a tremendous passion for the game. He's so good in coverage that there are some who believe he could play CB as well as he could either safety spot.

The other guy rarely made many plays vs the pass, and some even said it was a concern heading into the NFL. He did not stick out on games days anywhere near as much as the other guy does.
