Its not hard to see when you watch SEC football all the time. One guy was constantly all over the place, making plays vs the run and pass. Rarely misses a tackle and plays with a tremendous passion for the game. He's so good in coverage that there are some who believe he could play CB as well as he could either safety spot.

The other guy rarely made many plays vs the pass, and some even said it was a concern heading into the NFL. He did not stick out on games days anywhere near as much as the other guy does.

Berry is a better prospect then Landry was coming out, but not by much. You're making it sound like Landry was brutal in college. He was the best safety that year hands down, and he did make plays against the pass, and the run. Theres a reason he went 6th overall. He had 10 picks in 3 seasons and two 70 tackle seasons, and one season where he had 85. What de did in the pros is a different story. But to say he was brutal in college is just stupid. He even got to the QB and forced a couple fumbles, and was deadly after he got the pic.

Yeah, what would be worse than that? Except for, maybe seeing him out run our entire defense.

He didn't. They got away with a blatant hold.

I never said he was brutal, I said he was nowhere near the prospect Berry is now. I dont care if he was the top safety in that draft, that has nothing to do with comparing the ratings of the two particular players. Just because a guy is the top rated player one yr doesnt make him a similar grade to the top rated guy in another year.

Despite Landry's success at LSU, ther were questions about how he would fare in the pros in terms of his pass coverage skills, and those concerns have proven to be 100% warranted. He's terrible on the back end. Berry's cover skills are so good that people believe he could play CB at an elite level.

He wasn't just the top rated safety. He was rated one of the 6-7 best players in the draft that entire year. And while there are strengths and weaknesses in every player's analysis going into the draft, there were very few questions about his ability to play overall. Sure, there are variations in the quality of players at a given position from year to year, but at the very top of the draft board, there's not room for all that much variation.

And Berry's game isn't without questions, either. There are analysts who don't even have him rated the top safety this year.

Well if he really does bulk up then passing on the Commanders just got even easier. He's already a liability, along with Hall, in the passing game and if he puts on that much weight he's only going to get worse in coverage.

This is a great thing if it turns out to be true.

Please do. The guy will be 240lbs... that's 35 lbs heavier than his previous playing weight! Good luck covering anyone. I will love watching our WR fly right past him LOL

LOL!!! That's money..:laugh2:

Ok so the safety position of old is becoming the new LB ala metamorphosis..

Started off with Urlacher, he was a safety in college and became an ILB, I'm sure there were others, now maybe Taylor Mays and this Landry cat after getting roasted deep a few more times... Surely they move his *** to LB. New trend developing before our eyes boys, it's a passing league...

Mays has one huge advantage over Landry, Mays didn't attend Overrated U aka LSU.

This guy's problem isn't his size.

He appears to be damn near blind at times. I thought I heard someone say that he must have ****ed up depth perception because of how he plays things at times.

He's like a cat pawing at a bucket of water.
