Ravens announced they reached agreement with former Raiders S Michael Huff, the man to replace Ed Reed.

Ravens' new deal with former Raiders S Michael Huff will be for three years, $6 million.

So much for that possibility. They got him cheap too.

Hell of a deal for the Ravens.

We sign guys like Livings and Bernadeau for $ like that.

Kyle Orton's making $ like that. Dan Connor was.

This year is a good year to have that extra $5-$10 million in FA because there's some good deals to be had down the line.

He didn't want too sign an agreement and wait for the cap so he can go and try too replace Ed Reed, our expectations here were going too be less cause we havent had nobody good enough at safety, lol, now he has too replace what Ed Reed would do doubt it though

Surely this means we'll be drafting a S with one of our first three picks.. even with the signing of Allen.

I'm hoping for Vacarro or Rambo.

He would have been a good addition here. Hopefully 6mil over 3 years isn't the reason we didn't sign him cause that's cheap

Its cheap but you can't keep signing guys to 3 year deals even at 2 million if they have no future here. At some point you have to start thinking about the next few years when Dez, Demarco and Sean Lee are up for a re-signing. You can't franchise all of them.....

This cant the best example of that.

If he is such a steal then why didn't someone pay him more?

Not sure that I buy us passing on 2 mil per year to be able to sign Dez, but point taken.

As I said, I just hope it wasn't the money that made us pass on him. That's the definition of cap hell.

Seems simple to me.

They are counting on Church and Johnson and didn't want to commit much to veteran insurance.

Whether that works or not remains to be seen, but there's your explanation for Allen over Huff.

Plus Allen played in the system, I'm sure that was a huge factor.

Dirt cheap indeed. Makes me wonder what we offered him and what we signed Will Allen for?

That kind of deal shouldn't hurt though. The signing bonus has to be pretty non existent.

That's what I was thinking. If he signed for that with the Ravens... we must have been offering him peanuts... Which means if we did want him, we didn't want him very badly.
