Also a decent move for the Bears. The Jets only gave up a 6th rounder to the Skins for Ramsey, a QB. The Bears had no need for Green since he was riding the pine in favor of Chris Harris. The 6th round pick may not be worth anything in the end, but it's at least a shot.

Seattle now can trade up, down or BPA.

Most mocks had them looking for safety help late.

They needed to do something after giving up a third round pick for an imbecile who might be in jail soon.

Don't you mean stockpiling World of Warcraft gold to buy the Bane of Iselday from the Dark Mage in the Caverns of Gaventry?

It's pretty funny reading the threads on the Bears' and Seahawks' message boards. The Bears' fans can't believe they got anything in trade for Mike Green, while the Seahawks' fans think it's the steal of the century.

Actual Bears fan: "what a bunch of morons...Green is terrible!"

Actual Seahawks fan: "We got a starting caliber FS that is adept at pass pro and can make some plays. ... we have improved at the safety position with this pick up. Ruskell again shows why he is a great GM."

There are pages and pages of it.

Green is horrid. Keith Davis, as crappy as he is, is a much better player than Green. Green can't cover, tackle, takes crappy angles. Seattle should still be looking for a Safety in the draft.

It's decent for both teams. Green played a lot of SS early on, but is really a FS. The Bears really liked Chris Harris (even though he blows in pass coverage) so they benched Green in favor for him.

Considering the Jets only gave up a 6th rounder for Patrick Ramsey, the Bears getting a 6th rounder for their backup safety is a solid deal. OTOH, there's just as good of a chance that whatever 6th rounder Seattle could've drafted would never see a down in a NFL game compared to Green who could legitimately start or get a lot of playing time for them.
