S Stevie Brown

Right. But if we carry 4 S's make him inactive and keep him as insurance in case Church or Wilcox gets hurt. Just can't stomach going into season with Heath as #1 backup S

He isnt the number one backup safety. He's at best third backup. (Jones, White)

Pretty expensive player to be inactive
Just what we need a multi million dollar back up

Why was he released?

Brown opened camp as the favorite to start opposite Rahim Moore, but the Texans saw more upside in keeping Quintin Demps. Andre Hal will continue to start in base packages. Brown had just $40,000 of his veteran-minimum deal guaranteed. The safety-needy Giants should have interest in bringing back Brown.

Comes down to special teams. Coaches love Heath 'cause he does it well.

Absolutely correct. I don't care for Heath at all.

But he has been earning a job on ST. He is not going anywhere.

saw replays of Texans preseason games. Did not stand out one way or the other. But I think we need a vet as backup at our weakest position.

I think a "vet" safety is a luxury.

We are going with Jones and White as safety backfills.

I would not be shocked if we carried no more than four out of this group.

At any rate, he goes back to New York. They need bodies.

Year after year, it doesn't matter who. Almost every player cut gets his own thread here because someone thinks he is better than what we have.

Fact: Every non-Cowboy player that is cut, not-resigned, on the trade block, or coming out of retirement, will generate interest from at least part of the Cowboys' fanbase as a potential new addition to the team.
