Saban or Bellicheck would be the right HC hire!

Personally, I would love a young, innovative, modern Offensive HC from the Coaching Trees of McVay or Shanahan, but hiring either Saban or Bellicheck is what this franchise needs to do for their next HC hire when MM ultimately departs.

Why do we want a old retread HC?

If you read my last post about McClay, it's all about convincing Jerry/Stephen that they need to change how they operate, how they build a roster. A former coach with "clout" who they respect might be the only chance to convince change is needed. Bellicheck has 8 Super Bowl Rings, 6 with the Patriots as HC and 2 with the Giants as DC. Saban has 7 College Championship Rings. Both are considered the GOATS on each level.

-We know Bellicheck has strong ties with the Cowboys, working on the competition committee with Stephen for years. He also has a close relationship with Jimmy who helped him early in his HC career.

-Cowboys always had close ties with Alabama throughout the draft prep for years. People tend to forget that Jason Garrett was Saban's QB Coach while with the Miami Dolphins.

Both are 72 years old with a wealth of experience and motivation. Bellicheck wants to prove to Kraft that he can win without Kraft & Brady. As for Saban, he crashed and burned in his only opportunity as an NFL HC.

There are some benefits and pitfalls from each:

-Bellicheck remains a great DC, but struggles hiring competent OC's
-Saban is aware of all the college, modern schemes and talent, but he lacks experience in the NFL game.

As great as both coaches are, I would much prefer a young, up-and-coming coach.

The one major advantage of Saban or Belicheck is their possible ability to stand up to Jones

You must be bored. Tired of the Jerry vs 105.7 fiasco? Jerry might interview these guys for attention. I see the Belicheck interview right before the Super Bowl so the Cowboys will get some exposure during bowl week. Jerry is not hiring either one.

I disagree. I don't want to see either one of them coaching the Cowboys. But it doesn't matter what I want to do. Jerry's gone of the deep end and who knows what he'll do now.

You do realize that Nick Saban

the guy who was already up in the NFL what was it the Miami Dolphins one-year total disaster quit and ran back to college you want that guy a quitter

I mean bill Parcells was a nice figure here but he also quit on us early cost us Sean Payton in my opinion.

so you got to be careful who you're suggesting here I'm not saying he'd be a failure here but didn't we see this guy already fall on his damn face?

Also Bill Belichick I would be OK with him here however has he ever done anything without Tom Brady I realize Siri might respect this man like he did bill Parcells but wouldn't you want the younger more in tune version of that tree for me I think I want Vrabel here.

The game has passed bill by, need to go younger and more innovative
Saben isn’t the answer. I don’t think anyone think short term bill could bring some much needed discipline and accountability. He also wouldn’t prevent you from bringing in a young, bright OC. Bill wouldn’t be my first choice but Zimmer would be worse. Johnson, Flores are guys I really like but I don’t see Jerry respecting them enough to let them do their job, he might bill

Why would anyone think either of these guys would be willing to subordinate themselves to Jerry's ego and control?

As for Saban particularly, he already walked away from a great gig presumably because he truly wanted to retire. Plus that, his previous experience in the NFL wasn't good. I doubt he wants the frustration of coaching again, and particularly having to start a building project at age 72, and I doubt he wants to risk having his career end on a sour note that could diminish his image as a great coach

Will Saban be able to recruit the top talent instead of drafting?

Saban retired in large part because of NIL and the Transfer Portal. He lost his ability to stack a roster with 5* players and let the Alabama boosters take care of them quietly behind the scenes.

I don't think he's the guy you want in an NFL with a draft and Free Agency system that Jerry will still demand to run.

Saban was a disaster in Miami, he ran back to college after lying saying he wouldn't..

Belicheat wants control, he's not getting that in Dallas and he's 72, no thanks to either one!

Vrabel or Flores as HC gets my vote..
