Sabin: Draft more than a week away and Greg Hardy already having an impact for Cowboys

At the NFL owners meetings last month in Arizona, Jerry Jones was asked to catalog the team’s draft priorities. One by one, he listed the positions of need. Linebacker. Defensive back. Running back. Offensive line.

“And we do have to look to the future relative to quarterback,” Jones volunteered.

But at no point during his answer did the Cowboys owner mention these two words: pass rusher.

The omission was noticeable, considering that finding a quarterback hunter with a consistent track record had been a mission since DeMarcus Ware’s departure the previous offseason.

I hope that is a smokescreen, because while hardy should have many positive impacts on the team, we don't know if he will get a suspension and we don't know if he wears the star in 2016...should change draft priorities at all, now, sign the guy past this year and I will agree with pass rusher being further down the list of perceived needs, but there will be nothing knew in the next two weeks...I am still pretty high on OO

There have been 6 DE's in on official visits so I think there interest for a pass rusher is still there.

Yes, they've had visits with the same number of DEs ranked in the top 200 as they have with RBs.

The only position with more (top 200) was CB with 10.
