I had us at 10-6 or 11-5 this year with a DL that matched our OL. This is predicated on the draft for the Cowboys fixing the DL and S. If we go for WR, RB, QB, LB, TE, or FB I have us at 8-8 or 9-7. This looks like a tough schedule.

I see us at 12-4. We nuke the Seahawks and Pats, but lose to the Commanders, Dolphins, Packers, and Bills.

For draft....Best defensive player at 27 unless Gordon/Gurley is there. If Coleman is there and "Boys are that high on him, Im ok. Rest focus on DL/CB/S.

I see us as having another 5-6 games decided by 3 points, each. How well we do will depend on how well we fare in those tight games again. With luck, and with an improved DL, we'll be good enough to compete in the post season. I think that's a reasonable expectation given the likely state of our roster heading in.

If Rod fires up the Rushmen we'll win close games IMO. Mainly I see a return to the play offs then the will see.

Yeah... That's why 11-5 doesn't mean anything at this point.

A bounce here, a kick there... A catch over there... An inopportune fumble pro or con...

We could roll at 9-7 to 13-3... No way to guess it

I have us at 12-4 or 11-5. Schedule not a murders row, but 7 of the teams we played had winning records last year, so not exactly a cakewalk either. We are gonna be straight though.

This time last year our schedule looked tough as well. I remember our late season schedule looking brutal with all of those division matchups and the Colts mixed in to go with a stretch of road games and we played our best football. Last season, some had us down to lose to both the Seahawks and Saints in the early season as well but we did fine. We will be okay.

Also what do you mean by fixing S? I believe our safety position is above average at that position, the best way to improve our secondary play is to upgrade our passrush.

Without even looking at the composition of the schedule, I'll predict somewhere between 9-7 and 11-5. The NFL by nature is a game decided by a few possessions, a turnover here or there, so many games hinge only on a few key plays. The Cowboys are a good team I believe relative to the rest of the league, so they'll win more games than they lose. Predicting anything beyond that is a crapshoot. NE is the only team I would comfortably predict at 12+ wins only because their division is a joke devoid of NFL QB play.

10-6 to 12-4 I need to see how the draft goes. Last year lpoked toigh and turned out to be not so bad. This can for sure be a 12-4 season as long as we upgrade the d as much as possible and keep the mistakes down.

I'm going 9-7/10-6 at first glance but will wait until after the draft to really get serious with any predictions. If there is no serious talent brought in at DL, RB, and the Secondary my intitial glance may remain the same. If Hardy has a limited or no suspension this will also affect my prediction. For me if no bellcow is brought in whether that be AD or one of the top three RBs my prediction will most likely get worse. Not predicting doom and gloom just realize work needs to be done and teams will be gunning for us this year.

If Romo stays healthy, we're 14-2. We should have been 14-2 last year. The Cardinals game was definitely winnable, but Romo was injured. The Skins game was also winnable if we had focused on the running game.

This will be a much improved team, and if we settle the running game and beef up the defense, we'll be even a better team.

You sound a lot like last years doom and gloom after the first game

Quote: "That would be one playoff showing in 20 years. But that is not what I want to convey here. It is the reason I had us going 8-8 but now looks like 5-11. The reason I was predicting 8-8 was Romo. After last Sunday I saw an Aikman of 2000 and realized that Romo would not be carrying the team anymore. Therefore based upon the talent of the Cowboys now, I see the future more clearly. It is time to let the young guns play and fine out who is a keeper in the future. Building starts this year with a clear idea where to go for drafting next year."
1. Quarter Back
2. DL
3. Defensive Backs
4. A new plan for running the defense
5. A new offensive scheme that makes the Cowboys look like the 49er's who kick our a!! Sunday

I'll take anything that has Dallas finishing ahead of Washington.

I can see a lot of 11-5 predictions. Even some pundits 10-6 as they never give us any credit to improve.
I also seeing a lot of 7-9 and 8-8 and even the "9-7 if Romo this or that, or we are lucky" type stuff from the doom and gloomers. I wouldn't doubt to see a 6-10 too. Lol.

But if we can be 9-7 for certain reasons, then we also can be 13-3 or 14-2 for certain reasons.

I haven't really gone through the schedule yet for my first rough guess. As it's never too early to do this for those that claim it is. It's dynamic, not static, always can change ones opinion and move wins and losses around.

I always went with 8-8 to start the last 4 years, and said I would stick with that unti they proved on the field that changed. Last year they did, so I will start out with 10-6 to 12-4. then re evaluate after the draft and a good look at schedules.

I still don't know how it was managed that the Packers, Seahawks, and Pats all get 10 or more days to prepare for us. How convenient. Cough*Mara*Cough.

Great point, but the Cowboys get a bye before the game at New York....
