Most folks here probably know the top 5 pass rushers from last season without 10 seconds thought. For the rest of us, here they are.

Demarcus
Joey Porter
John Abraham
James Harrison
Jared Allen

They finished the 2008 regular season with a whopping 84.5 sacks between them.

This year so far Antwan Odom has as many as those 5 guys, combined. I will go on record and say that Demarcus gets a pair tomorrow to put these 5 players ahead of Odom.

There's a point being made here. What do you think it might be?

It could be that oppenents are giving these guys special attention since they are the best rushers from last year. In other words, teams are going to block Ware with 2 or 3 guys and make the other guys on the line generate the pressure.

I have not really watched those other guys, but I would guess they are getting extra attention in the blocking scheme as well.

Residing in the Cincinnati area I am quite privy to Bengals games and I guess you could call them my "second" team. If my second team means I only slightly care if they win and i've cried over the cowboys...anyway...Antwan Odom put on 30 pounds in the offseason and I guess he needed it...i've always kinda regarded him as a fringe top 20 DE...he's fairly young, we always have a defensive player like this that breaks out in the NFL it seems every year...I don't know if he's gonna have a ton more, but he's getting to the QB...If by what do you think it might be being top 5 in sacks i'd say:

Dumervil I think will lead the league
Jared Allen
Ware
Freeny
Kerney's looking ok this year
Mathis
Little
Suggs

There's a couple of my early candidates, i'm sure i'm forgetting a million guys. Hard to predict a sack. I wish they would calculate quarterback pressures and hurries like they do sacks...

That Demarcus sucks now. He hasn't gotten a sack yet so he won't the rest of the year.

Same thing for our whole defense.

I mean, duh.

Why do you say that?

He suddenly added 30 pounds in the offseason and has 7 sacks through three games - his career high for a 16 game season is 8.

Is it possible that he just found some sort of dietary regiment and workout routine that allowed a world-class athlete to pack 30 pounds on to his frame at age 28 and it's all completely legit?

Maybe.

But I doubt it.

He picked up this book:

I'm not really a Zimmer defender, but he always was held back by Campo and then Parcells. I'm not surprised he's turned around a Bengals defense he has complete control over.

Guys can find the weight room at anytime. You work out hard, supplement your diet and protein up all day, you to can gain 30 pounds in an offseason.

These guys get piss tested all the time for everything. Dont think this guy would be dumb enough to HGH it but u never know.

Sure it's "possible". But it's not "probable". If it looks like a rat, smells like rat, it might be Brady Quinn.
