You can't make this stuff up
it was meaningless because dallas was already out of the playoffs and had nothing to play for. Neither did Philly.

The criteria is admittedly arbitrary, but the sad fact remains, when the calendar hits November, it’s been a very long time since the Cowboys beat a team on the road with a good record. Regardless of the coach, qb, defense, etc. There is one constant though. Alas.

To top it off, Dak already said this has the feeling of a “playoff game” so that’s another additional jinxed L added to the column. We’re on the road in a cold environment against the top team in the NFL.

We’re doomed.

It’s an indoor stadium. Zeke, Pollard, & TEs will win this game.

Here’s some food for thought. Or a better way to put it, some food to assist in eating your feelings.

The last 3 times the Cowboys have won a road game vs an opponent that was 3 or more games above .500:

2017: Meaningless 6-0 win vs 13-2 Eagles that had clinched the #1 seed.

2010: Jason Garrett’s first game as a head coach the 1-7 Cowboys beat the 6-3 Giants.

2009: This was the last meaningful win o. the road when Dallas went into New Orleans and beat a 12-0 Saints team.

It’s been THIRTEEN YEARS since the Cowboys beat a team on the road that was 3 or more games above .500. that actually meant something.

Long story short, the Vikes are a lock.

So how many times have the Cowboys played a team on the road 3 games above 500 in the last 10 years?

To be fair, beating teams that are 3 games over .500 at their place is pretty rare for most teams, but the Vikings did pull it off last week vs a crippled Buffalo team.

Minnesota has squeaked by with so many of their wins this year, they could be 4-5 with a few bounces here or there.
They deserve big credit for finding a way to pull these games out, but this is not a juggernaut

This is the NFL. Every win is a meaningful win except preseason games. It's hard to win games at this level of football.

Yeah, 27 years in a row is definitely not an indicator of how 28 is going to go especially with the same front office.

I'll bet the Lions and Browns are on the cusp of a SB win too!

Now break down the other 31 teams in the same time span with the same veracity. until we have a better comp on where they stack up, its meaningless stat not sad, sad fans constantly bring up negatively 24-7 against our own team in whats supposed to be friendly Cowboys zone.

true but cripp[ed and gave the game away literally JA fumbles on the goal line to put it in OT and then throws the game ending INT, early Christmas gifts,

Man, the things people find to whine about.
How about putting that effort into finding the good things about the team.

Oh...here comes the 27 years crowd....

Yeah, they debated even letting Allen play last week. He's playing hurt for sure

I think Dallas squeaks out the road win this week, but who knows....

He skipped over the Cowboys loss to the Giants on the road in 2016. Missed the Cowboys win over the 9-5 Eagles in 2014. But I would imagine most teams have trouble against teams 3 games over .500 playing away.

Criteria is everything with these kind of stats. The Dolphins are 0-6 in games on Sunday night when the moon was full during a lightning storm while playing in a dome. Guess what the forecast is tonight?

I totally missed that 2014 win vs Philly in Philly. My bad.

My overall point is that the Cowboys since Jimmy left are notoriously unreliable in meaningful games against good teams that nce EDT becomes EST.

Yea this is the important question here.
Context matters.
Frame of reference matters.

I imagine the home team wins the majority of times in this very specific scenario that OP has conjured to further dog the Cowboys.

What an odd premise for a thread.

You're right. But teams change. I'm just hoping our D is the difference this year. Otherwise it's the same old Cowboys. We can't depend on the offense. The D is what has to put us over the top. I fully expect us to win the next two games. We have a player from Penn state that elevates everyone around him. This year is a bit different from the others.
