EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant admitted to being “heartbroken” after his fumble killed a promising drive early in the fourth quarter.

But to Bryant’s credit, he bounced back to make two big third-down catches on the game-winning drive as Dallas escaped with a 24-21 win after Dan Bailey’s 35-yard field goal on the last play.

With the Cowboys leading 21-13, Bryant fumbled after catching a 5-yard pass on second-and-10 from the Giants’ 49. The ball bounced out of bounds at the Dallas’ 31 and the Cowboys punted two plays later.

The miscue resulted Romo chewing out Bryant, who also had a ball go off his hands in the first quarter for an interception.
Afterward, though, Romo had nothing but praise for the resilient Bryant.

“You just have to have that mental approach to come back,” Romo said. “It’s just like a quarterback who throws an interception or a golfer who makes a double bogey. You just have to figure out the game isn’t over. You didn’t play all 18 holes yet. If you’re still in it, you’ve got to be able to say, ‘All right, I’m pissed. But I’ll worry about that later tomorrow and figure that out and get better. Right now, our team needs me to play at the best that I can play,’ and Dez does a good job of that.”

Coach Jason Garrett agreed.

“He had a couple of bad plays, but he responded really well at the end of the game,” Garrett said of Bryant. “He’s a money-type player. He’s a big-time player and he made some big-time plays at the end of the game.”

Said Bryant, “I kind of started slow, but I didn’t get too down on myself. I had to keep myself together because those guys were believing in me and I was believing in them, and I had to keep my composure and go out there and play my game.”
