The San Antonio MacArthur graduate, who carries 265 pounds on a 6-foot-5 frame posted 28 reps of 225 pounds at the NFL Scouting Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium, according to information obtained by the San Antonio Express-News

The 6-4, 250-pound Eric Ebron, who is regarded as the No. 1 tight end in the draft, had 24 reps. Notre Dame product Troy Niklas (6-6, 270) ripped off 27 reps. Washington alumnus Austin Seferian-Jenkins (6-5, 262) recorded 20 reps.

Amaro’s show of strength should ease concerns about his blocking, which he said was outstanding as a sophomore when it was his main role in the offense.

“I think it’s just a want-to thing,” Amaro said Thursday. “I’ve always had the technique, always had the drive. When I’m asked to block, I know I can block guys down. But I know I’m willing to and I know I’m going to.”
