OXNARD, Calif. – Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrance Williams faced the wrath of tight end Jason Witten after dropping an easy over-the-middle ball from Tony Romo during team drills Monday.
“Damn it, 83!” Witten shouted at the third-round pick.
The sequence stung, but Williams is determined to keep his head up and come back strong.
“That’s something that really bothered me because I knew I had it,” the former Baylor star said. “I just got to go back to the film and come back tomorrow with a whole new attitude.”
Williams has been running as the No. 3 wide receiver since the offseason, but he shot down the notion that he has the job locked up. Dwayne Harris is also competing for the job.
“No,” Williams said. “I just got to continue to focus on this playbook and continue playing with confidence. If it pans out that way, then it pans out that way. I’m not looking to that.”
