One of the most impressive plays in training camp happened Tuesday, but it didn’t involve anyone named Romo, Bryant or Ware.

This time the eyebrow raising feat was performed by Dan Bailey, who kicked a 59-yard field goal in an end-of-game situation during team drills. Bailey’s career long is 51 yards.

“You can make a compelling argument that he does his job as well as anybody on our team does their job,” coach Jason Garrett said of Bailey, who has been good on 61 of the 68 field goal attempts over two seasons, including a 29-of-31 effort last season.

In the preseason-opening 24-20 win over Miami on Sunday night, Bailey kicked a 49-yard field goal.

“He’s an outstanding football player. He’s won a number of games for as at the end of games. He’s about as reliable a guy as I have ever been around kicking the football. He’s about as professional a guy as I’ve ever been around. He has some unbelievable traits in terms of his preparation and how conscientious he is. He is an outstanding athlete, as cool as they come. We are just happy to have him.”
