A quad injury prevented Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles from practicing Wednesday, but that doesn’t mean his status for Sunday’s game with the Dallas Cowboys is uncertain.
Well, at least not in the mind of the former Texas standout.
“I’m excited. I don’t want to miss this game for the world because everybody from Texas will be watching this game,” Charles said during a conference call Wednesday with reporters who cover the Cowboys. “I think I need to go out there and just show everybody what kind of Texas player I am.”
The Port Arthur Memorial graduate, who earned a trip to the Pro Bowl last year by rushing for 1,509 yards, said he’s determined to “ball out” against the Cowboys.
“Playing against the Dallas Cowboys, you really try to show out because you know everybody from home is watching,” Charles said, per the Dallas Morning News’ web site. “All your family in Dallas, friends in Dallas, you’re just trying to go out there and ball out.”
