ARLINGTON – Cowboys cornerback Mo Claiborne just can’t seem to stay healthy.
After missing all of the preseason with a knee injury, Claiborne returned in Sunday night’s 36-31 win over the New York Giants only to suffer a dislocated left shoulder. The trainers popped it back in so he could continue playing, but it’s just another sign that Claiborne might not be perfectly suited for Monte Kiffin’s 4-3 defense, which requires a lot of physical play from the corners.
Claiborne will be re-examined Monday morning.
“I wasn’t so much worried about the pain,” Claiborne told Cowboys broadcasters after the game in a radio interview on Dallas’ KRLD-FM. “I was hurting, but I wasn’t worrying about the pain. I was just worried that I was injured. I’m going through this whole process of being injured again. I’ve just got to try and stay healthy. I can’t control it when things happen. I’m just going to try and stay healthy and continue to build on the field for my teammates.”
