OXNARD, Calif. – Clippers guard Chris Paul, who slept in a bed with Cowboys sheets while at Wake Forest, thoroughly enjoyed his visit to training camp Thursday.
“I’m like a little kid,” Paul said after addressing the team following practice. “I’ve done a lot of good things in my career, but this is one of the highlights of my life. These guys probably have no clue what it means to me. I used to act like I was Ken Norton in the backyard playing middle linebacker.”
Paul brought his 4-year-old son, Chris, with him.
“I can’t wait to send pictures to my dad,” Paul said. “My family is going to go nuts. It’s serious. I remember going to be affected by whether the Cowboys won or lost. This is pretty cool.”
Paul was less enthusiastic when the subject turned to basketball. Asked about the Spurs letting the NBA title slip from their grasp, he said, “It happens, man. Basketball. It’s tough.”
