CANTON, Ohio – As expected, quarterback Tony Romo and most of the Cowboys starters are sitting out Sunday night’s preseason opener against the Miami Dolphins.
Dallas entered the second quarter with a 7-0 lead after Phillip Tanner scored on a 1-yard run following a fumble by Dolphins quarterback and Texas A&M alum Ryan Tannehill.
The only offensive starters on the field for Dallas were tackles Tyron Smith and Doug Free and rookie center Andy Frederick. The only defensive starters seeing time were linebacker Justin Durant and end Ben Bass.
