SAN ANTONIO – Unable to find another team willing to take a chance on his surgically reconstructed left knee, free agent defensive end Anthony Spencer has re-signed with the Dallas Cowboys.
Spencer’s agent, Jordan Woy, announced via Twitter on Saturday that Spencer, 30, agreed to a one-year contract with the club. Financial terms weren’t disclosed.
Spencer played in only one game last season after undergoing surgery to repair cartilage damage last October. In March, he visited the Washington Commanders and the New York Giants in free agency but was unable to gain a contract with either team.
Spencer, who joined the Cowboys as a first-round pick in 2007, earned his first Pro Bowl berth in 2012 after recording a career-high 11 sacks.
