GLENDALE, Ariz. – Tony Romo had a 112.5 passer rating in nearly a full half’s worth of work, but the Cowboys have nothing to show for it after committing five turnovers to trail the Cardinals 9-0 at halftime.
Dwayne Harris, Lance Dunbar and Dez Bryant fumbled for Dallas, which also lost the ball twice via interceptions thrown by Kyle Orton.
Jay Feely kicked field goals of 25, 53 and 40 yards for Arizona. He also missed from 30 late in the first half.
Romo was 7 of 10 for 142 yards but overthrew a wide-open Terrance Williams down the sideline in the first quarter.
Dallas’ sloppy play negated several nice plays. Dunbar’s fumble came after a 43-yard catch and run and gave Arizona possession at its own 15. Bryant’s fumble came after a 27-yard gain, giving the Cardinals possession at their own 24.
Arizona had a chance to pad its lead, but Cowboys linebacker DeVonte Holloman made a diving interception at the Dallas 3-yard line with 47 seconds left on a throw by Drew Stanton on first down from the 12.
But the Cowboys gave the ball back a few plays later on Orton’s second interception. The first half ended with Feely kicking a 40-yard field goal.
Bryant caught four passes for 74 yards. George Selvie and Ben Bass had sacks for Dallas.
Carson Palmer was 7 of 15 for 66 yards for Arizona. Larry Fitzgerald had three catches for 44 yards for the Cardinals.
