OXNARD, Calif. – Tony Romo has been cleared for full participation in training camp, but that doesn’t his throws won’t be monitored.

While he doesn’t have a “pitch count,” the 33-year-old quarterback will be questioned by coaches throughout practice about how his arm feels, coach Jason Garrett said.

Romo sat out most of the offseason work outs after having a cyst removed from his back in April.

“It’s more communication, like ‘How are you feeling?’ Garrett said. “You also look at the ball. Does the ball look a little dead or tired?

“But mostly it’s communication with him and how’s he feeling. We’ll all get a sense for that.”

Romo arrived at Oxnard early and spent time Friday throwing on the field while the rest of the team flew to California.

“One of the challenges for Tony, when you have a back injury, is it’s hard for you to actually stay in the kind of shape you’d like to be in,” Garrett said. “I’m really proud of how he’s worked since he’s been able to get back. He looks great. He looks lean to me. We do have to monitor his throwing. I don’t think it’ll be significant.”
