Outspoken Giants safety Antrel Rolle suggested in an interview with the NFL Network that the Cowboys are being held back by owner Jerry Jones and coach Jason Garrett.
Speaking Tuesday on “NFL Total Access,” Rolle said he’s looking forward to facing the Cowboys, who some analysts believe will contend for the NFC East title this season.
“The Dallas Cowboys are a good team,” Rolle said. “Maybe they’re missing a couple pieces of the puzzle, but I don’t think the pieces they’re missing are actually the players.”
Several players through the years, including former Ravens stars Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, have taken shots at Garrett, suggesting that his game plans are easy to decipher.
Jones said recently that Garrett isn’t coaching for his job this season, but what happens if the Cowboys don’t make the playoffs for a fourth-straight season and a third-straight under Garrett? Jones isn’t going anywhere, so it’s a safe bet that another losing season could lead to Garrett getting canned.
