SAN ANTONIO – When the Dallas Cowboys return to practice Wednesday morning in Irving, linebacker Sean Lee is expected to be on the side rehabbing his gimpy hamstring.
The Cowboys haven’t ruled Lee out for Sunday’s game at the New York Giants even though he suffered a hamstring injury on Nov. 10 in New Orleans that was expected to sideline him for three to four weeks. Still, it’s unrealistic to expect him to play, although the Cowboys are hopeful he’ll be back sooner than expected.
“Sean is Superman, and I mean it,” Jerry Jones told Dallas’ KRLD-FM on Tuesday. “I remember back before the draft, ESPN did a special on him, and I think members of his team called him God. He has such a will that if anybody can come back sooner than what you ought to be coming back from, he can do it. He’s rehabbing at the most intense level you can, and if anybody can get back here in a couple of weeks, he can do it.”
Lee leads the team in tackles with 115. He also has a team-best four interceptions.
Bottom line: He’s the heart and soul of the defense.
