IRVING – One day after passing on former Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel to grab Notre Dame offensive lineman Zack Martin, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he had no regrets even though he admitted Manziel was the highest player on the team’s draft board at the time of the selection.

But with Tony Romo entrenched at quarterback and due a guaranteed $55 million, the addition of Manziel would have created an off-the-charts media circus, Jones conceded.

“You’ve got an explosion,” he said. “Manziel said it better, it’s just bigger than you could take…It’s not the usual development guy behind an accomplished quarterback. He’s a celebrity. He’s Elvis Presley.”

So if Manziel is Elvis, who is Romo?

“George Strait,” Jones said.
