SAN ANTONIO – DeMarcus Ware and Miles Austin are gone. Who’s next?
That’s the burning question as Thursday dawns at Cowboys headquarters in Valley Ranch.
Defensive end Anthony Spencer is set to visit the Commanders, according to ESPN. Defensive tackle Jason Hatcher toured Seattle on Tuesday and Oakland on Wednesday and is set to visit three other clubs, including Tennessee, soon, according to the Dallas Morning News. Both are unrestricted free agents.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys are hoping that free agent defensive tackle Henry Melton, formerly of the Bears, doesn’t sign with the Vikings. Dallas added two defensive linemen in free agency Wednesday, end Jeremy Mincey and tackle Terrell McClain, but they are journeymen players that will provide depth. Melton was a Pro Bowler in 2012 before an injury plagued 2013 and could be a difference maker in the middle for Dallas – provided it gets a shot at making him an offer.
