IRVING – Criticizing Jason Garrett’s game-management skills and play-calling decisions are fair game. After all, there were more questionable decisions coming from the sideline Sunday night in the loss to the Eagles.

But one thing you can’t say about Garrett is that he’s lost this team. The Cowboys play hard for him, and there was more proof of that in the season finale.

Despite playing without Tony Romo and Sean Lee, Dallas battled from start to finish, displaying the resiliency that fans have come to expect under Garrett.

“I told them last week in Washington that I’m just proud to be part of the group,” Garrett said afterward. “The way they fight, the way they scratch and claw, the way they work, the belief, the will and the determination they showed.

“And it was no different tonight. It might have been stronger tonight. Just time and time again, battle and battle, try to give us a chance to win this ball game. And overcome all the obstacles and adversities and no one ever blinked. I’m just proud to be a part of the group, proud to be in the locker room with them.”
