ARLINGTON – Ernie Sims will start in place of the injured Justin Durant in the base defense and ahead of Bruce Carter in the nickel package.
Carter was benched last week after Danny Woodhead burned him for two touchdowns in last week’s loss at San Diego.
The other players on the Cowboys’ inactive list are Miles Austin (hamstring), Chris Greenwood, Edgard Jones, David Arkin, Darrion Weems and Andre Smith.
The Broncos’ inactive list includes cornerback Champ Bailey (foot). Denver had been hopeful he would make his debut Sunday.
The weather is sunny and in the 70s, but the roof is closed.
