ARLINGTON – Recently signed guard Brian Waters is inactive tonight, meaning he likely will make his debut with the Dallas Cowboys next week at Kansas City.

Waters played his first 11 seasons with the Chiefs. He sat out last season after making the Pro Bowl with New England when it went to the Super Bowl in 2011.

While Waters wasn’t expected to play tonight, defensive end Caesar Rayford is a surprise scratch considering how injuries have left the Cowboys defensive line in shambles. The Cowboys acquired the 27-year-old rookie last week in a trade with Indianapolis.

Rayford led the NFL in preseason sacks with five.

The other inactive players for Dallas are offensive lineman Darrion Weems, wide receiver Cole Beasley, running back Lance Dunbar (foot), defensive end Anthony Spencer (knee) and safety/special teams ace Danny McCray (hamstring).
