ARLINGTON – Jason Witten had two touchdown catches in the Cowboys’ 36-31 win over the Giants on Sunday night.
The eight-time Pro Bowl tight end had only three TD grabs all of last season.
It was only the third time in Witten’s career that he’s had a two-TD performance. The last time before Sunday night was on Dec. 12, 2010 against Philadelphia.
“Yeah, it feels good,” Witten said after catching TD tosses of 15 and 4 yards from Tony Romo against the Giants. “That was an area that I really focused on last year. I had a bunch of catches (an NFL tight end record 110), but (not a lot of TDs). Tony does a great job of keeping plays alive. On that second one, he was getting his line of vision (blocked), so I was excited for that catch and excited for our team on that big win.”
