I think a teams draft strategy in the first should be really to take the safest player possible. nothing can set you back more than misfiring on a 1st rounder. DeCastro is my guy. Ya its fun and "sexy" to take the guy with potential, but how many times does that pan out compared to the number of guys that never make it? take chances later in the draft. If you consistantly land contributors in the first round, you have a chance to be competitive usually, its reaching for potential that can really burn you.

You already mentioned the only guy I look at and can consider a safe pick DeCastro looks to be a guy that is going to come in and make whoever takes him very happy for a long time. The kind of player that if he is there at 14 and we skip over him by mid season the board will be flooded with the same old garbage anytime we miss on a pick or FA x2.
